The Location

The estate is approximately 240 km due east of Lisbon, close to the Spanish border, and 8 km south of the city of Portalegre. Tapada do Falcão sits between the villages of Caia and Santiago. Although it is possible to travel to Portalegre by bus or train, a car is pretty much essential. The drive is approximately 2 hours from Lisbon airport. If travelling from the UK to Santander or Bilbao in Northern Spain by ferry, the drive is around 8 to 9 hours.
